Sustainable Agriculture
Combating climate change through sustainable solutions
Sustainable Agriculture
Agriculture remains the backbone of rural livelihoods, yet farmers continue to face increasing challenges due to climate change, declining soil fertility, water scarcity, and market uncertainties. APCT's Sustainable Agriculture Programme empowers farmers with environmentally responsible farming practices that improve productivity while conserving natural resources

| Cluster | Regions | Farmers | Land Cultivated |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pondicherry | 20 | 110 | 120 Acres |
| Chunambedu (Tamil Nadu) | 25 | 90+ | 84 Acres |
| Combined | 45 | 200+ | ~204 acres |
Most beneficiaries are smallholder paddy farmers with under 2 acres of land the group most exposed to debt and crop failure, and least able to access timely inputs.
Farmer Livelihood Revitalisation Programme (FLRP)
The Farmer Livelihood Revitalisation Programme (FLRP) is APCT's flagship agriculture initiative designed to strengthen rural livelihoods through sustainable farming practices, climate adaptation, and capacity building. The programme equips farmers with practical knowledge, technical guidance, and innovative approaches that improve agricultural productivity while protecting the environment.
Organic Farming
The programme promotes natural and organic farming methods that enhance soil fertility, reduce dependence on chemical inputs, improve crop quality, and contribute to healthier ecosystems.

Climate-Resilient Agriculture
Farmers are supported in adopting climate-smart agricultural practices that help them adapt to changing weather patterns, conserve water, improve resilience, and reduce production risks.
Farmer Capacity Building
Regular training Programs, demonstrations, exposure visits, and technical guidance enable farmers to improve agricultural practices, adopt modern technologies, and strengthen their decision-making capabilities.

Sustainable Livelihoods
Beyond increasing agricultural productivity, FLRP focuses on enhancing household incomes, diversifying livelihood opportunities, improving market access, and strengthening long-term economic resilience for farming communities.
